The Miami Heat<\/a> posted \u2014 and later deleted \u2014 a YouTube link on Tuesday that triggered suspicions that LeBron James would be rejoining his old team.<\/p>\n

The video in question<\/a> was titled \u201cLeBron James Introductory Press Conference | July 27, 2026,\u201d which took fans to an offline live stream. The thumbnail image, though, was a graphic for Dwyane Wade\u2019s statue unveiling ceremony.<\/p>\n

So, did the Heat accidentally leak the news<\/a> that fans have been waiting weeks for?<\/p>\n

It doesn\u2019t seem like it. The Miami Herald<\/a> reported that there\u2019s no validity to the video, citing a team spokesperson. ESPN\u2019s Shams Charania<\/a> added that the team\u2019s social media department was \u201cpreparing for the possibility of James\u2019 signing and mistakenly posted the link,\u201d which was quickly deleted.<\/p>\n

James, 41, is the NBA\u2019s oldest active player<\/a> as he prepares to enter his record-extending 24th season. His free agency decision has ground the NBA offseason to a halt<\/a> as players and teams await James\u2019 decision.<\/p>\n

Since the Los Angeles Lakers<\/a> were eliminated in the second round of the playoffs in May, James has been linked to several teams. He announced June 30 that he wouldn\u2019t return<\/a> to the Lakers, but it has now been nearly a month of indecision.<\/p>\n

The Heat, along with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Philadelphia 76ers<\/a> and Golden State Warriors<\/a>, have been discussed as potential suitors<\/a> for James.<\/p>\n

James started his career in Cleveland in 2003 and spent seven seasons with the Cavaliers before heading to Miami for four seasons \u2014 where he won his first two titles in 2012 and 2013.
