TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Bertha remains a tropical storm as of the 11 A.M. advisory from the National Hurricane Center. The current winds near the center are around 50 mph as the storm wobbles south of Mississippi in the northern Gulf.<\/p>\n

We can still expect random showers and a few storms, howevere nothing severe. Breezy with winds between 15 and 25 mph. Highest gusts will be along the coast, where some minor beach erosion is still possible. Additional rain totals will be minimal. <\/p>\n

The biggest impacts will be along the coast, where dangerous marine conditions are expected again today. South winds will gust between 20 to 25 knots. Protected waters will be rough, while waves in the open waters will range from 6 to 8 feet. <\/p>\n

Tomorrow, waters are still a little choppy, but slowly improving. South winds 5 to 10 knots. Seas 3 to 6 feet. <\/p>\n

Drier tomorrow<\/p>\n

Behind Bertha, high pressure builds back in. I am expecting a mostly to partly sunny Thursday with only a few afternoon or evening showers where the sea breeze can get going, especially near I-75. Highs will reach the low to mid-90s. Less humid too!<\/p>\n

Friday and the weekend<\/p>\n

Friday we get back to our typical summertime pattern with partly sunny skies and scattered afternoon showers. Highs in the low 90s. <\/p>\n

The weekend is shaping up to be the same as Friday. Scattered afternoon showers with highs in the low 90s. There will be plenty of dry time to get out and enjoy the weekend. I know a lot of us will need to cut the grass after the recent rain.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s next for Bertha<\/p>\n

As for Bertha\u2019s track, the tropical storm is expected to continue to weaken as it approaches the southern Mississippi and southeastern Louisiana coast. The peak storm surge is between 2 and 4 feet during high tide, with minor beach erosion possible. Rain totals will be highest offshore as wind shear tears the tropical storm apart and shoves the persistent thunderstorms offshore. <\/p>\n

\"TropicalTropical Storm Bertha is tracking northwest through the Gulf.(WCTV)<\/p>\n

Bertha will be a depression or post-tropical low by the end of this week, bringing some showers and storms to South Texas.<\/p>\n
