A routine traffic stop resulted in a drug trafficking charge against the driver after a police dog alerted to possible narcotics in the car.<\/p>\n
Tara Michele Flore, 29, of Cape Coral, was charged with trafficking in methamphetamine over 14 grams after K9 Venom alerted his handler following a \u201csniff around\u201d the vehicle. <\/p>\n
According to the Cape Coral Police Department, on July 21, at approximately 1:39 a.m., a CCPD officer stopped the vehicle in the 3400 block of Del Prado Boulevard South after observing multiple traffic infractions.<\/p>\n
During the stop, a K9 Officer and his partner, K9 Venom, arrived to assist.<\/p>\n
\u201cA subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered a backpack containing four separate clear plastic baggies filled with a crystal-like substance,\u201d the CCPD said in a release. \u201cA preliminary test confirmed the substance to be methamphetamine, with a total weight of 97.8 grams \u2014 a substantial amount well above trafficking thresholds.\u201d<\/p>\n
Flore, who police say was the sole owner of the vehicle, \u201cwas arrested after evidence and statements connected her to the illegal contents.\u201d<\/p>\n
