{"id":349180,"date":"2026-07-22T22:46:07","date_gmt":"2026-07-22T22:46:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/349180\/"},"modified":"2026-07-22T22:46:07","modified_gmt":"2026-07-22T22:46:07","slug":"dia-board-member-cameron-hooper-steps-down","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/349180\/","title":{"rendered":"DIA board member Cameron Hooper steps down"},"content":{"rendered":"<p id=\"h976889-p1\" class=\"permalinkable\">Citing his commitment to his family and increasing professional demands, Downtown Investment Authority board member Cameron Hooper resigned after spending 17 months on the nine-member board.<\/p>\n<p id=\"h976889-p2\" class=\"permalinkable\">Hooper sent his resignation notice to Jacksonville City Council President Nick Howland on July 6.<\/p>\n<p id=\"h976889-p3\" class=\"permalinkable\">Council approved his appointment to the board in February 2025.<\/p>\n<p id=\"h976889-p4\" class=\"permalinkable\">In November of that year, Hooper was named senior vice president of development for Rise: A Real Estate Co. Before joining Rise, he was senior vice president of multifamily at Matthews Real Estate Investment Services in Jacksonville.<\/p>\n<p id=\"h976889-p5\" class=\"permalinkable\">Hooper was nominated to the board by former Council President Randy White. Howland will be responsible for nominating his replacement.<\/p>\n<p id=\"h976889-p6\" class=\"permalinkable\">\u201cThroughout my service, I have consistently tried to approach each project through the lens of sound underwriting, market realities, and long-term financial sustainability,\u201d Hooper wrote in his resignation notice. \u201cWhile perspectives naturally differ, I remain convinced that Jacksonville\u2019s greatest opportunities will come from decisions grounded in objective analysis, disciplined economics, and thoughtful stewardship of public resources.
