JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2013 A Jacksonville man seen making threats and using racist language in a now-viral video was taken into custody Thursday afternoon, News4JAX has learned.<\/p>\n
The video, recorded Monday in the San Jose neighborhood, has been viewed more than 1 million times across social media platforms. It shows a woman \u2014 identified as Tynika Munn, who is Black \u2014 being verbally and physically harassed while sitting in her car after pulling into a driveway to pick up a friend.<\/p>\n
Munn, known to many as Ty, told News4JAX she called 911 immediately after the incident \u2014 and waited.<\/p>\n
\u201cI sat on the 9-1-1 call. I asked, \u2018Are you sending someone out ASAP?\u2019 Because you want me to sit in front of somebody\u2019s house that can potentially go in and get a gun and just start shooting?\u201d Munn said.<\/p>\n
JSO told News4JAX it became aware of the video earlier this week and launched an investigation. Officers showed up at Munn\u2019s door Thursday morning \u2014 three days after the incident. News4JAX Reporter Ashley French was there.<\/p>\n
Munn says the confrontation began when she pulled into the man\u2019s driveway at the direction of the friend she was picking up. She says what happened next was unprovoked.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe video doesn\u2019t start where the aggression started,\u201d Munn told News4JAX. \u201cThe man actually got into his car, revved it up, and forced me to back out of the driveway. Then he parks to the side \u2014 and approaches me.\u201d<\/p>\n
She says she questioned why he was driving toward her car.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd then I\u2019m like, why are you trying to hit my car? That\u2019s all I said,\u201d Munn said. \u201cHe didn\u2019t move the car anywhere but to the side \u2014 so it shows he was intentionally trying to antagonize me.\u201d<\/p>\n
