FORT PIERCE, Fla. (CBS12) \u2014 A house fire exposed more than smoke after firefighters uncovered an alleged drug stash, leading to a Fort Pierce man’s arrest on trafficking, fentanyl and gun charges.<\/p>\n

Deputies with the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office<\/a> say they responded to the home of 50-year-old Mario Bryant’s home on the 3400 block of Avenue I on Tuesday for reports of a house fire.<\/p>\n

Upon arrival, firefighters say they quickly extinguished the blaze, preventing the home from being completely engulfed.<\/p>\n

During a walkthrough of the home, firefighters discovered more than just debris and ashes. They reportedly discovered a large stash of multi-colored pills.<\/p>\n

Detectives with the Special Investigation Division<\/a> responded, confirmed the narcotics, and obtained a search warrant, per SLCSO.<\/p>\n

In total, deputies say they seized 270 grams of MDMA, 15 grams of cocaine, 2 grams of fentanyl, 711 grams of marijuana, a Smith & Wesson .38-caliber revolver, and drug materials used to prepare narcotics for distribution.<\/p>\n

Bryant was subsequently booked for counts of trafficking in MDMA, possession of fentanyl, possession of marijuana with intent to sell or deliver, possession of cocaine, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.<\/p>\n

The source of the fire has not been identified by investigators at this time.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"FORT PIERCE, Fla.
