TAMPA, Fla. (July 24, 2026)\u00a0\u2013 University of South Florida Men’s Soccer, led by Head Coach George Kiefer, has announced its schedule for the upcoming 2026 season. After coaching the Bulls from 2002-16, Kiefer returns to the Bay as South Florida embarks on a 17-match schedule that includes 11 home contests, two preseason exhibitions, and eight American Conference matches.

\nSouth Florida opens the preseason with road exhibition matches at FGCU on Aug. 8 and at Georgia Southern on Aug. 14 before welcoming Winthrop to Corbett Stadium for its regular-season opener on Thursday, Aug. 20.

\n“We’re super excited to play in front of our home crowd. Playing in front of our supporters is always special, and having several opportunities to do so this season will be a great advantage,” Kiefer said.<\/p>\n

\n\tHome Season Opener: The Bulls open the regular season at Corbett Stadium on Thursday, Aug. 20, against Winthrop.
\n\tPreseason: South Florida begins preseason play with road exhibitions at FGCU (Aug. 8) and Georgia Southern (Aug. 14).
\n\tNon-Conference Matchups: The non-conference slate is highlighted by the War on I-4 against UCF and features matches against West Florida, UNF, UTRGV, UNC Greensboro, Stetson, Jacksonville, Florida College, and Winthrop.
\n\tConference Opponents: American Conference play begins on Sept. 11 at UAB. The Bulls will also travel to Missouri State, Charlotte, and FAU while hosting Tulsa, FIU, Temple, and Memphis.

\nAbout South Florida Men’s Soccer
\nThe oldest varsity athletic program at South Florida, men’s soccer competed in the school’s first-ever intercollegiate athletic contest on Sept. 25, 1965, beating Florida Southern 4-3.

\nThe Bulls have claimed 14 conference championships and made 22 NCAA Tournament appearances, including three trips to the Elite Eight. The program boasts 31 MLS draft picks, including two-time MLS Golden Boot winner Jeff Cunningham, 1994 World Cup Team USA star Roy Wegerle, and 2013 MLS Cup winner Dom Dwyer. Three men’s soccer alumni and one coach have been inducted into the USF Athletics Hall of Fame: Fergus Hopper, Jeff Attinella, Jeff Cunningham & Dan Holcomb.

\nOn Dec. 10, 2025, head coach George Kiefer was hired for his second tenure at South Florida. Kiefer previously led the Bulls from 2002-16, compiling one of the most successful stretches in program history as the Bulls went 162-86-51 (.627), earned four conference championships, and made 10 NCAA Tournament appearances. Under Kiefer, South Florida advanced to the NCAA Elite Eight in 2008 and 2011. His six NCAA Tournament victories remain the most in program history, and his win total ranks second all-time among USF head coaches.
