LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) \u2014 The <a href=\"https:\/\/cbs12.com\/search?find=Port+St.+Lucie+Police+Department\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Port St. Lucie Police Department<\/a> has unveiled a new $28 million training facility designed to provide officers with updated resources and specialized spaces for law enforcement training.<\/p>\n<p>The department held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday, offering media a first look inside the 54,283-square-foot facility before it becomes operational.<\/p>\n<p>The new building includes a 20-lane indoor firearms range, a tactical shoot house for scenario-based training, a MILO virtual simulation theater for decision-making and de-escalation exercises, and a defensive tactics room equipped with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axon.com\/products\/vr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Axon VR technology<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>See also: <a href=\"https:\/\/cbs12.com\/news\/local\/strangers-the-florida-keys-find-iowa-mothers-final-wishes-message-in-a-bottle-florida-keys-south-florida-boat-captain-jordan-truchan-iowa-mother-mothers-ashes-ashes-at-sea-ocean-journey-bottle-found-at-sea-emotional-discovery-viral-story\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Message in a bottle found off Florida Keys carries Iowa mother\u2019s final wish<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The facility also includes a multi-purpose training room, updated audio\/visual technology, and office space for the department\u2019s Training Division and Criminal Investigations Division.<\/p>\n<p>Port St. Lucie police say the facility was built to support ongoing training needs as the city continues to grow.<\/p>\n<p>The project was designed by <a href=\"https:\/\/adgarchitecture.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">ADG Architecture<\/a> and constructed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hjhigh.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">HJ High<\/a>, with specialized equipment and technology provided by partners including <a href=\"https:\/\/4d1c06dd.isolation.zscaler.com\/profile\/5173ef2b-cac0-42a7-9825-8c3b0fbd34e8\/zia-session\/?controls_id=049365c0-0df9-4575-bc20-98d0ad0a225e&amp;region=cle&amp;tenant=a422c0092784&amp;user=b65b0172f992c6e43277f752e94b756c0c8123392257339e2af97cb98c1503a4&amp;original_url=https%3A%2F%2Factiontarget.com%2F&amp;key=sh-1&amp;hmac=8cad238ae5904ed23e7f774e19af9779b369a832763e5b6f2d2349d042f8438d\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Action Target<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.faac.com\/milo\/milo-products\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">MILO<\/a> and<a href=\"https:\/\/www.whelen.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"> Whelen<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Department personnel are expected to begin moving into the facility Saturday, July 25.<\/p>\n<p>The police department says the secure facility will not be open to the public.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"PORT ST.
