JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2013 If you\u2019re interested in adopting a pet this weekend, you\u2019ll have a chance on Saturday at Jacksonville\u2019s Animal Care and Protective Services \u201cReally Large Adoption Event.\u201d<\/p>\n
The adoption event runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 2020 Forest Street.<\/p>\n
All adoption fees will be waived for the event. Each pet adopted will leave spayed or neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations. Cats and dogs will also be available for foster.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt has been a really busy summer, and we\u2019re operating over capacity for both dogs and cats,\u201d said ACPS Chief Michael Bricker.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re all hands on deck for this event, and hope to find loving homes for the hundreds of amazing animals we have at the shelter. The more animals we find homes for, the more new animals we can bring into the shelter, meaning more animals are saved from dangerous and urgent situations. Everyone who adopts from us is part of saving lives,\u201d Bricker said.<\/p>\n
Staff and volunteers will be on hand to provide information and facilitate meet-and-greets with available animals.<\/p>\n
Community members interested in adopting or fostering a pet are encouraged to attend.<\/p>\n
