The reason Suarez had a penalty kick to shoot to begin with is the cause of major concern for Miami, though. Suarez\u2019s attacking partner German Berterame had been fouled in the box by a defender who clashed into him from behind. Berterame slammed into the ground in a very hard impact, and players on the field quickly called for the training staff to attend to him.<\/p>\n

Berterame was seemingly concussed, and it was a truly concerning injury. An ambulance rushed on to the field, medics secured Beterame onto a stretcher and loaded him into the ambulance. Following his goal, Suarez held up Berterame\u2019s No. 19 jersey as a sign of respect.<\/p>\n
According to Inter Miami manager Guillermo Hoyos, Berterame is now conscious and recovering. It\u2019s unclear what his recovery timeline looks like, but it sounds like he avoided major complications.<\/p>\n
Miami’s next game will come on Saturday, August 1 against Columbus Crew.
