He has worked in the kitchens of Nammos in Southampton as well as Michelin-starred spots like Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons in the UK and Arzak in Spain. He has also led restaurants in Greece, including Vassilenas in Athens.

The new restaurant, he said, is “deeply personal to me.”

The bar at the new Manoli Greek restaurant in Coconut Grove. I wanted to bring that feeling to Miami, where every table feels like home and every meal feels like a celebration.”

The restaurant, which seats about 140 diners indoors, across an outdoor patio and at the bar, has been redesigned a bit, stepping away from the green booths and darker palette of Sereia, instead focusing on bright blue and white and light wood and sculpted wall niches.

The menu includes small plates with grape leaves, saganaki (pan-grilled cheese) and crispy feta in phyllo as well as mussels, gyro tacos with Black Angus ribeye and keftedos (traditional Greek meatballs). There’s also a raw bar serving items like oysters and bigeye tuna tartare.

The sculpted wall niches at Manoli Greek restaurant, now open in Coconut Grove. There are also grilled items like lamb chops, prime beef, branzino and fresh fish in season.

When it’s time for dessert, a server will roll over the dessert trolley, offering an array of housemade desserts: profiteroles, baklava, chocolate cake, crispy crea custard or yogurt with preserves.
