Tampa, FL – Hundreds of volunteers gathered in the Tampa Bay area to assemble 30,000 backpacks filled with school supplies as part of an annual effort to help local students prepare for the upcoming academic year.<\/p>\n
The Bullard Family Foundation hosted its yearly Backpack Build, bringing together community members, businesses and nonprofit partners to package thousands of backpacks that will be distributed to children before classes begin. <\/p>\n
The initiative is intended to help students start the school year with the essential supplies needed for the classroom while easing the financial burden on families.<\/p>\n
Volunteers spent the day filling backpacks with items commonly requested by schools, including notebooks, folders, pencils, pens, crayons and other classroom essentials. <\/p>\n
Once completed, the backpacks will be delivered through local schools and community organizations serving children throughout the Tampa Bay region.<\/p>\n
Organizers said the annual event has grown into one of the area’s largest back to school volunteer efforts, relying on donations and community support to reach its goal each year.<\/p>\n
The program is designed to ensure students have access to the materials needed for learning regardless of their family’s financial circumstances.<\/p>\n
Community volunteers worked together in assembly line fashion to complete all 30,000 backpacks during the event.<\/p>\n
Organizers said every backpack packed during the drive will be distributed before the first day of school, helping thousands of students begin the new school year with the supplies they need.<\/p>\n
