Latest aerial photos from @bioreconstruct on X show the latest construction progress at Magic Kingdom’s Piston Peak National Park expansion.<\/p>\n

Grading and retaining wall work continues across the site, with sand now being placed between the existing Frontierland grade and the Piston Peak retaining walls.<\/p>\n

The mid-July photos give a good look at how the new land’s terrain is being shaped relative to the existing park. The scale of the retaining wall system is now fully apparent from above, wrapping around a large portion of the construction zone alongside the Frontierland guest pathway.<\/p>\n

The retaining wall system is significant in scale as the Piston Peak land will sit at a different elevation to the existing Frontierland pathway. This kind of grading work is consistent with concept art showing Piston Peak as a mountainous terrain with elevation changes throughout the land.<\/p>\n

One of the more notable details in the latest photos is sand being placed in the area between the existing Frontierland grade and the new Piston Peak retaining walls.<\/p>\n

The wider aerial shot shows the full extent of the Piston Peak and Villains Land construction zone. The site stretches from the edge of Frontierland all the way to the backstage area near Floridian Way to the north and west.<\/p>\n

Disney announced Piston Peak National Park at the 2024 D23 Expo. The land will feature two attractions \u2014 a headline rally race through mountain terrain and a second family-oriented ride. No opening timeline has been announced, but we expect to hear ore at the upcoming D23 event in August 2026.<\/p>\n
