JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2013 A longtime Pawsitive Reader at Jacksonville Humane Society is being recognized for a major milestone: 100 hours reading to shelter pets.<\/p>\n

Nehemiah T. joined the JHS Pawsitive Reading program in 2024 and has been determined to reach 100 hours ever since. <\/p>\n

Nehemiah especially loves to read to the dogs in JHS\u2019s suites and hopes that reading helps them feel calmer and find homes faster. <\/p>\n

One of his favorite dogs to read to was Hopper, who he read to during every visit until he was adopted after nearly 400 days in the shelter.<\/p>\n

Pawsitive Readers have the opportunity to earn colored paw print stickers for their name badges as they reach reading hour milestones, with a sparkly gold paw print sticker being the coveted grand prize. <\/p>\n

Nehemiah also earned a certificate verifying his 100 hours of reading, signed in gold ink.<\/p>\n
