{"id":353885,"date":"2026-07-27T17:29:38","date_gmt":"2026-07-27T17:29:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/353885\/"},"modified":"2026-07-27T17:29:38","modified_gmt":"2026-07-27T17:29:38","slug":"new-express-bus-will-connect-downtown-st-pete-directly-to-tampa-international-airport","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/353885\/","title":{"rendered":"New express bus will connect downtown St. Pete directly to Tampa International Airport"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Getting from downtown St. Petersburg to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tampaairport.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Tampa International Airport (TPA) <\/a>without a car is about to become much easier.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Beginning in October, the <a href=\"https:\/\/psta.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA)<\/a> will launch the 727, a new premium express bus service connecting downtown St. Pete directly to the airport.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">The route will make nine stops throughout downtown, including stops at <a href=\"https:\/\/psta.net\/routes\/sunrunner\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">SunRunner stations<\/a>, before traveling nonstop to the airport using the Howard Frankland Bridge express lanes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">\u201cFor years, one of the questions I have received is, \u2018How do I get from downtown St. Petersburg to the airport without driving?\u2019\u201d PSTA CEO Brad Miller said during a joint announcement with airport officials Monday morning. \u201cUntil now, we didn\u2019t have a very good answer. Today, we do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">The daily service is being touted as a more predictable alternative to driving and parking, particularly during peak tourism periods when the airport\u2019s garages frequently reach capacity.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Buses equipped with luggage racks and Wi-Fi will operate from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. seven days a week, with service approximately every 75 minutes.
