Gate Express Carwash (Jacksonville Daily Record)<\/p>\n

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. \u2013 Just more than three months after Adventure Landing closed in St. Augustine, Jacksonville-based Gate Petroleum plans to redevelop a portion of the 7.1-acre property on State Road 16, according to the Jacksonville Daily Record.<\/a><\/p>\n

Gate purchased the part of the former amusement park property July 24 for $2.1 million. The company confirmed it has plans to build a Gate Express Car Wash on the property. At the time, it\u2019s unclear when construction will begin.<\/p>\n

Adventure Landing closed April 12 after being sold for $3.6 million to a collection of Alabama and Georgia real estate firms.<\/p>\n

St. Johns County is reviewing plans to demolish the park and redevelop the property. The St. Augustine location was the last surviving Adventure Landing in Northeast Florida.<\/p>\n
