CDC, Central Florida doctor highlight risks of extreme heat for pregnant women and unborn babies<\/p>\n

As the CDC warns that extreme heat can pose serious health risks to pregnant women and their babies, board-certified Orlando Health OB-GYN Christine Greves shares tips on staying safe.<\/p>\n

ORLANDO, Fla. \u2014<\/p>\n

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a warning about the dangers that extreme heat can pose to pregnant women and their unborn babies. <\/p>\n

Dr. Christine Greves, an Orlando Health obstetrician-gynecologist, explained why conditions like prolonged heat exposure are a concern during pregnancy. <\/p>\n

She also highlighted warning signs that expecting mothers should watch for in hot weather. <\/p>\n

Dr. Greves emphasized the importance of planning ahead, prioritizing themselves and their baby, and seeking medical attention. <\/p>\n

To stay safe, Dr. Greves recommended several steps for pregnant women, including staying hydrated and taking breaks in air-conditioned spaces whenever possible.<\/p>\n
