{"id":355038,"date":"2026-07-28T16:21:08","date_gmt":"2026-07-28T16:21:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/355038\/"},"modified":"2026-07-28T16:21:08","modified_gmt":"2026-07-28T16:21:08","slug":"orlando-international-airport-jumps-to-7th-busiest-in-u-s","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/355038\/","title":{"rendered":"Orlando International Airport jumps to 7th busiest in U.S."},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">ORLANDO, Fla. \u2014 Orlando International Airport moved up two spots in a new ranking of the nation\u2019s busiest airports.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">MCO ranked seventh in the United States for passenger traffic in 2025, up from ninth place in 2024, according to Airports Council International North America.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">The airport remains the busiest in Florida and ranks 25th worldwide.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">MCO served 57,675,573 passengers in 2025, a slight increase from 57,211,628 the previous year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">Airport officials attributed part of the growth to international travel. New nonstop routes from Orlando to Munich, Madrid and Paris launched during the year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">\u201cThese numbers are reflective of Central Florida\u2019s continued growth and global appeal,\u201d Greater Orlando Aviation Authority CEO Lance Lyttle said. \u201cThey also show why it is important to embrace a strategic vision that focuses on enhancing customer service while addressing critical infrastructure needs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">Future projects at MCO include a new baggage-handling system for terminals A and B and 8,000 additional public parking spaces by 2030.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">The airport also plans to upgrade restrooms, renovate portions of terminals A and B and improve passenger movement in Terminal C.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wftv.com\/mobile-apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" title=\"https:\/\/www.wftv.com\/mobile-apps\">Click here<\/a> to download our free news, weather and smart TV apps.
