CAPE CORAL, Fla. \u2014<\/p>\n
A Cape Coral man was arrested on Sunday after being accused of street racing on Nicholas Parkway.<\/p>\n
According to the Cape Coral Police Department arrest report, shortly after midnight, an officer saw two cars, a 2021 White Nissan Altima, being driven by Anthony Grass Perez, 19, and a White Nissan Titan, driven by an unnamed minor, traveling eastbound on Southwest Pine Island Road approaching Nicholas Parkway.<\/p>\n
As the officer approached the vehicles, they slowed to approximately 10-15 mph in a 50 mph zone, the arrest report said. The two drivers seemed to be having a conversation while driving.<\/p>\n
As the vehicles got closer to Nicholas Parkway, the drivers lined up next to each other and then accelerated quickly and began to race, the report said. The Titan accelerated in a way that caused the back end of the vehicle to fishtail and lose traction.<\/p>\n
The vehicles were traveling at approximately 60 mph, the report said. The officer activated their lights and pulled over both vehicles.<\/p>\n
Grass Perez was arrested and faces a charge of street racing. The minor was arrested, but no additional details are currently available.<\/p>\n
