TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Florida was ranked number one for higher education by the US News and World Report, marking the 10th year of coming in first.<\/p>\n
The State University System of Florida is celebrating by launching a special scholarship program called \u201cFlorida 10 for 10.\u201d <\/p>\n
The program will award up to $1,000 to 10 full-time undergraduate students at each participating university, including Florida State and FAMU. <\/p>\n
Both university\u2019s presidents are celebrating the ranking and thanking Governor DeSantis and the legislation for their contributions. <\/p>\n
FSU\u2019s President Richard McCullough praised Florida State\u2019s contributions to student success and the \u201cupward trajectory\u201d of the school. <\/p>\n
\u201cAs the oldest continuous site of higher education in Florida, Florida State University is proud to be part of the No. 1 State University System in the country,\u201d McCullough said. \u201cWe are grateful for the investments that Governor Ron DeSantis and the Florida Legislature are making in higher education, which support FSU\u2019s upward trajectory as one of the Top 25 public universities in the nation.\u201d<\/p>\n
Florida A&M University President Marva Johnson also shared a statement, describing the state universities as \u201cessential engines of research, workforce development and economic opportunity across the state.\u201d <\/p>\n

Applications for \u201cFlorida\u2019s 10 for 10\u2033 scholarships open Monday, August 3.<\/p>\n
