7:45 PM UPDATE: The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office announced Homicide Unit detectives are investigating after an unidentified man was pronounced dead after he was found floating in a retention pond.<\/p>\n
JSO said officers responded to a reported drowning at Coquina Bay Apartments off of San Pablo Road South near Jose Vedra Boulevard after residents found an unresponsive man floating in the pond.<\/p>\n
JSO said that before officers arrived at around 2:15 p.m., bystanders had pulled the man from the water.<\/p>\n
The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department then responded and pronounced the man dead.<\/p>\n
JSO said the man has yet to be identified and that detectives are continuing to investigate the incident.<\/p>\n

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said it is responding to a reported drowning in the Intracoastal West area.<\/p>\n
JSO said the call came from 3709 San Pablo Rd South, which is the address of the Coquina Bay Apartments.<\/p>\n
