The hospitality giant \u2014 who owns such hot spots as LIV, Komodo, Papi Steak, and Gekko with Bad Bunny \u2014 almost had a walk-on role in this summer\u2019s Netflix hit \u201c72 Hours.\u201d Key word: Almost.<\/p>\n
The streaming flick stars Kevin Hart as Joe, a senior ad exec who somehow gets included in a group chat with a bunch of 20-somethings. Plot twist: Joe ends up tagging along with the Gen-Zers for a crazy bachelor party weekend in Miami.<\/p>\n
Parts of the \u201cHangover\u201d-style comedy were filmed around the Magic City last summer. In one particularly zany scene<\/a> that was teased to the public, Hart (OK, his stuntman) hops on a pink stretch limo zooming around the Brickell area.<\/p>\n WARNING: CLIP CONTAINS STRONG LANGUAGE<\/p>\n Over the weekend, Grutman shared a snippet of what was to be his big moment on Instagram. Interest was high; the post got about seven million views.<\/p>\n Dressed in signature black and surrounded by a film crew yelling \u201cAction!\u201d Grutman approaches Hart\u2019s character, who is on the ground dazed and disheveled from a wild night out.<\/p>\n \u201cRicardo Montana!?\u201d an impressed Grutman says to Joe, whose Scarface-esque alter ego emerged after taking drugs. \u201cLegend!\u201d<\/p>\n As Hart staggers away, Grutman yells back, \u201cSee you at Komodo!\u201d<\/p>\n Alas, although this interaction is pretty hilarious, our guy was edited out of the final product. \u201cHollywood can be a cruel place,\u201d the married father of two joked in the caption.<\/p>\n \u201cMy acting was a 10 out of 10,\u201d read the text over screen. \u201cBut I didn\u2019t make the cut.\u201d<\/p>\n It\u2019s unclear why Grutman\u2019s cameo was not included, but he told the Miami Herald he has some idea.<\/p>\n \u201cI was a little stiff,\u201d the impresario admitted, adding, \u201cBut I\u2019m staying humble.\u201d<\/p>\n Grutman will keep on doing what he does best, running nightclubs, while keeping one foot in showbiz.<\/p>\n \u201cThere are other movies shooting in Miami so I\u2019m in talks,\u201d said the sometime thespian who had bit parts in 2016\u2019s oil spill biopic \u201cDeepwater Horizon\u201d and 2020\u2019s \u201cBad Boys for Life.\u201d \u201cI\u2019m looking for character-actor roles.\u201d<\/p>\n Despite ending up on the cutting-room floor, the \u201cTake it Personal\u201d author says the experience on \u201c72 Hours\u201d was amazing. The Naples native loved hanging out with the cast, which included Miami\u2019s own Marcello Hernandez, who plays the wisecracking best man.<\/p>\n \u201cHe is having a year like nobody else!\u201d Grutman gushed of the \u201cSNL\u201d comic who costarred in \u201cHappy Gilmore 2,\u201d had a Netflix special and just hosted the ESPYs. \u201cHe doesn\u2019t have to say anything; he can just walk into a room and be funny.
