Tampa now has a torta the size of a full-grown Chihuahua.<\/p>\n

Mita\u2019s Cocina Moderna<\/a>, a new family-owned modern Mexican concept, quietly debuted in Tampa\u2019s Hyde Park neighborhood earlier this month.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Located at 301 W Platt St. Ste C (the old Yah Mon Caribbean Restaurant), Mita\u2019s soft-opened back on July 11, with a focus on handcrafted tacos, fajitas, and signature tortas, including a 12-inch torta dubbed \u201cLa Titan!\u201d, which is \u201cbuilt for sharing.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

All tortas, including La Titan!, can come in a variety of ways including steak, pork, roasted veggies shrimp and more.<\/p>\n

For example, a grilled chicken La Titan! (pictured) is $25, and comes with stacks of grilled chicken chunks, cabbage, bean spread, chipotle aioli and avocado. <\/p>\n

Normal tortas range between $11 and $15. <\/p>\n

The menu also features a variety of micheladas and beers, as well as a slew of wines and agave cocktails.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Mita\u2019s is open from 11 am \u2013 9 p.m. every Monday through Saturday, and 10 a.m.\u00a0 through 3 p.m. on Sundays.<\/p>\n

Mexican flavors are apparently hot in Tampa right now. Back in June, \u201cCoastal Mexican\u201d restaurant La Victoria<\/a> announced it will debut this fall about a mile down the Riverwalk.<\/p>\n
