When asked about the punishment doled out for fumbling the football, which is the ultimate cardinal sin of the sport, De\u2019Von Achane seemingly thought creating one was a good idea, and pledged to get back to the media with an idea.<\/p>\n

Achane, the Miami Dolphins\u2019 starting tailback, was referring to Ollie Gordon II fumbling the ball away in Wednesday practice, the team\u2019s first of training camp.<\/p>\n

Wouldn\u2019t you know Achane\u2019s must now include himself in that punishment based on the ball he fumbled away in Thursday\u2019s practice when edge rusher Chop Robinson ripped the football out his hand during an 11-on-11 run in practice\u2019s first hour.<\/p>\n

In the second hour of Thursday\u2019s practice Gordon committed his second fumble in two days when cornerback Chris Johnson ripped the ball out, and recovered it.<\/p>\n

The Dolphins offense lost two fumbles, and threw two interceptions on Thursday, the team\u2019s second on-field day of training camp.<\/p>\n

Along with Achane and Gordon\u2019s fumble, safety Zayne Anderson pulled down an interception off a tipped pass, and linebacker Ronnie Harrison Jr. pulled down Malik Willis\u2019 second interception of the day on a play where Miami\u2019s starting quarterback was backing away from pressure being applied by Robinson.<\/p>\n

Top Plays\/Performers<\/p>\n

Pass rusher Clelin Ferrell, a former first-round pick who signed with the Dolphins earlier this week, delivered two straight impactful plays late in Thursday\u2019s practice when he pressured QB Quinn Ewers into throwing the ball away. On the next play Ferrell, an eight-year veteran, made a would-be tackle at the line of scrimmage\u2026.Inside linebacker Tyrel Dodson and rookie safety Michael Taaffe each dropped possible interceptions on Thursday\u2026.Edge rusher Cameron Goode produced a would-be sack for the second straight practice\u2026.Patrick Paul had one eye-opening snap where the Dolphins\u2019 starting left tackle threw Robinson onto the ground like he was a rag doll on a passing play\u2026.<\/p>\n

Stock Up<\/p>\n

It\u2019s challenging to evaluate trench play without pads, but a bulked up Chop Robinson was indeed impactful on Miami\u2019s second day of training camp. Robinson produced at least two would-be sacks, forced and recovered a fumble and was stout against the run for most of the day. Thursday\u2019s performance hints that the 2024 first-round pick is ready to become an NFL starter, if not an impactful player if he can remain healthy.<\/p>\n

Stock Down<\/p>\n

Tutu Atwell, a Miami Northwestern product, is likely the fastest receiver on the Dolphins roster. He moves at a different speed than everyone else, but he\u2019s been invisible on the field for most of the offseason program, and the first two days of training camp. On Thursday, Atwell tipped one of the few passes Willis threw his way, and it turned into an interception for Anderson.<\/p>\n
