<\/a>PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. \u2014<\/p>\nA 911 call released Thursday by Port St. Lucie Police provides insight into why a man shot and killed another man last week.<\/p>\n
The shooting happened in the early morning hours of July 19 on Southeast Rivergreen Circle.<\/p>\n
Two men were killed.<\/p>\n
Investigators said 24-year-old Carl Loubeau mistook 22-year-old Juliun Stokes for someone he believed was hitting on his girlfriend, so he shot and killed him. <\/p>\n
Stokes\u2019 cousin, Dwayne Walker, returned fire, killing Loubeau. <\/p>\n
Walker then called 911. <\/p>\n
\u201c911. Do you need police, fire or ambulance?\u201d the dispatcher asked. <\/p>\n
\u201cPlease, please help. Somebody shot my cousin, and I shot back. I don\u2019t know what to do,\u201d Walker said. <\/p>\n
Walker pleaded for help for Stokes during the call. <\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s my cousin, sir. We need help, please,\u201d he said. \u201cHe\u2019s got two kids. Please help. You have to hurry up. Please, sir.\u201d <\/p>\n
When police arrived, they ordered Walker to drop the phone and get on the ground. <\/p>\n
He complied but continued speaking with the dispatcher. <\/p>\n
“What did this start over?” the dispatcher asked.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe were just coming to the house, and her boyfriend shot my cousin. That\u2019s it. That\u2019s all. Because my cousin said, ‘Hey’ to him and he laughed. And he said, \u2018Do I know you?\u2019 and he shot my cousin. So I shot back, sir,\u201d Walker said. <\/p>\n
Police determined Walker acted in self-defense. The investigation is ongoing, but authorities said they do not expect to file any charges.<\/p>\n
