(<a href=\"http:\/\/www.wbrc.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">WBRC<\/a>) &#8211; A Jacksonville State men\u2019s basketball player has been arrested in connection to a rape investigation in east Alabama.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text text-start\">According to Jacksonville Police, 21-year-old Daniel Adegboyega, an international student at Jacksonville State, was taken into custody Wednesday morning after a welfare check was requested by a woman of a concerned friend.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"21-year-old Daniel Adegboyega\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/1785469271_4_AZ3K2ECOJVEMXIF7KLU7R2F6W4.png\" width=\"980\" height=\"551\" \/>21-year-old Daniel Adegboyega(Calhoun County Sheriff&#8217;s Office)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text text-start\">Police said they arrived to an apartment complex in the 600 block of Ivy Row NE and found Adegboyega and a woman. Officials said they noticed the woman was uncomfortable and seemed to want to leave the building.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text text-start\">The woman was then taken to her home where she was interviewed. Police say they then interviewed Adegboyega and made an arrest.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text text-start\">Jax State Athletics released the following statement to WBRC Thursday night:<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-2\">We are aware of the arrest. In response, the individual has been suspended from the men\u2019s basketball team.
