The search for Shohei Ohtani\u2019s holy grail card is over\u2014and the extraordinary pull has already sold for more than $10 million.<\/p>\n
The discovery immediately put the anonymous collector in line for a staggering payday. Grade10, an Asia-based trading card company, had offered $10 million<\/a> to whoever found the card, but the redemption appears to have changed hands through a separate private sale.<\/p>\n High-end collector Matthew Allen, known online as shyne150 and Bolillo Lajan San, announced on Instagram that he had acquired the card<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cTo make it very clear, I paid over 10 million for the card,\u201d Allen wrote.<\/p>\n Shohei Ohtani #17 of the Los Angeles Dodgers looks on from the dugout Getty Images<\/p>\n Allen is one of three principals behind Secure Collectibles, alongside Shark Tank personality Kevin O\u2019Leary and Paul Warshaw.<\/p>\n The original finder was a regular Boca Breaks<\/a> customer who entered the shop specifically hoping to pull the card\u2014\u201cjust like the rest of the world,\u201d shop representative David Davidov said. Boca Breaks received only five hobby boxes, including two jumbo boxes. The collector paid $700 for one of the jumbos and walked away with a redemption that ultimately sold for more than eight figures.<\/p>\n Davidov described the shop as a \u201cmadhouse\u201d during the chase, and the excitement has continued as locals stop by to offer congratulations and hear the story behind the extraordinary pull.<\/p>\n The card\u2019s unusual construction explains the enormous interest surrounding it.<\/p>\n It includes two game-worn gold MLB logo patches connected to Ohtani\u2019s consecutive National League MVP seasons with the Dodgers. One side features a patch from 2024 alongside his English autograph, while the other pairs a 2025 patch with his signature written in Japanese kanji.<\/p>\n A gold \u201c1\/1\u201d stamp confirms that no second version exists.<\/p>\n Collectors will have the chance to score a Shohei Ohtani card that\u2019s estimated to be worth around $5 million beginning this week. Topps<\/p>\n Grade10 $10,000,000 BOUNTY Instagram\/ grade10hk<\/p>\n The collector initially pulled a redemption card, meaning Topps will deliver the finished centerpiece rather than the physical card appearing directly inside the pack.<\/p>\n Its eventual value remains uncertain despite the public bounty.<\/p>\n Before Grade10\u2019s offer, Market Movers founder Geoff Wilson estimated that the card could bring approximately $5 million on the secondary market. Ohtani\u2019s previous sales show why collectors believe this version could go significantly higher.<\/p>\n A different one-of-one Ohtani Gold Logoman autograph card sold for $3 million in December 2025. Another card featuring Ohtani and New York Yankees star Aaron Judge, complete with both players\u2019 autographs and Gold Logoman patches, sold for $2.16 million in March.<\/p>\n Neither carries the same back-to-back MVP theme as the newly discovered card.<\/p>\n Any final price would depend on its condition, authentication, selling platform and the number of serious buyers willing to compete. The $10 million bounty also does not guarantee that money has changed hands.<\/p>\n For now, the collector owns the redemption to a card Topps described as one of the most important Ohtani collectibles in existence.<\/p>\n The biggest chase in the newest Topps Chrome release is officially finished.
