TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WPEC) \u2014 A Tallahassee man was sentenced to two years in federal prison after admitting he made repeated online threats to kill President Donald Trump and other federal officials, prosecutors announced Friday.<\/p>\n
Diego M. Villavicencio, 36, was sentenced on two counts of sending interstate threats, one count of impeding or retaliating against a federal official and one count of making threats against the president, according to the U.S. Attorney\u2019s Office for the Northern District of Florida.<\/p>\n
Court documents show Villavicencio targeted Trump<\/a>, former Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell<\/a> and U.S. Rep. Eric Swalwell<\/a> in threatening social media posts and messages over several months.<\/p>\n On Sept. 15, 2025, Villavicencio posted images on X showing crosshairs aimed at Powell\u2019s head, prosecutors said. One post stated Powell would be \u201cshot and killed\u201d on Sept. 23, while another said, \u201cJerome is next.\u201d<\/p>\n The following day, Villavicencio responded to a post by Swalwell and threatened to kill the congressman and his family, according to court records. Prosecutors said he later sent a direct message stating Swalwell would be shot and killed on Sept. 24.<\/p>\n On Jan. 25, 2026, Villavicencio responded to a post on 4chan and said he planned to drive to Mar-a-Lago to \u201ctake a couple of shots\u201d at Trump and other people he described as corrupt, court documents show.<\/p>\n
