Gov. DeSantis taps Michael Crabb to fill vacant Orange County commissioner seat<\/p>\n

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has tapped Michael Crabb to fill the vacant District 2 seat on the Orange County Board of County Commissioners. <\/p>\n

Crabb \u2014 whom the governor’s office<\/a> introduced as a lieutenant for the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and the owner of The Shirt Shop USA \u2014 was already running for the District 2 seat<\/a> after Christine Moore stepped down to run for mayor of Apopka. <\/p>\n

That mayoral race would go to Nick Nesta, who got 61.94% of the vote in an April runoff election. <\/p>\n

The governor’s office further described Crabb as “active in his community,” the vice president and a board member of the Florida Safety Council and a member of the Florida Deputy Sheriff’s Association who attended Barry University. <\/p>\n

It was one of several similar appointments announced Friday by the governor’s office, with the others including the appointment of Walter “Buddy” Money<\/a> to the Liberty County Board of County Commissioners and that of John Mitten<\/a> to the Hernando County Board of County Commissioners. <\/p>\n

The District 2 Orange County commissioner’s seat is still up for grabs, however, in the upcoming election. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Gov.
