{"id":359811,"date":"2026-08-01T09:31:05","date_gmt":"2026-08-01T09:31:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/359811\/"},"modified":"2026-08-01T09:31:05","modified_gmt":"2026-08-01T09:31:05","slug":"florida-ag-questions-vaccine-mandates-at-catholic-schools","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/359811\/","title":{"rendered":"Florida AG questions vaccine mandates at Catholic schools"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Florida AG pens letter regarding vaccine mandates at Catholic schools<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/e61ebd32-1a1a-4bbd-9ca3-2a67f8103004_1769629819.file.png\" width=\"48\" height=\"48\" alt=\"James Curtis\" loading=\"lazy\"\/>TALLAHASSEE, Fla. \u2014<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"0\">Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier sent a letter to the Florida Conference of Catholic Bishops on Friday regarding vaccine mandates at Catholic schools.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"1\">In a post on X, Uthmeier shared the following statement:<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"2\">&#8220;Today, I sent a letter to the Florida Conference of Catholic Bishops regarding their schools\u2019 vaccine mandates.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"3\">&#8220;Ironically, they won\u2019t offer religious exemptions as prescribed by state law.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"4\">&#8220;This is troubling and may disqualify them from state scholarships and vouchers.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"5\">The Florida Conference of Catholic Bishops responded to Uthmeier&#8217;s statement and letter by sharing the following with Gulf Coast News:<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"6\">&#8220;We are reviewing the letter and will respond to the Attorney General by his requested date of August 7.
