When this Floridian used his Tesla<\/a> Cybertruck to tow his boat for two hours, it brought him to a damning conclusion.<\/p>\n Taking your boat to a lake is as American as apple pie.<\/p>\n But when you have a huge load behind you, you need a reliable car to get you from Point A to Point B.<\/p>\n Would the Cybertruck be that vehicle for this man?<\/p>\n Love it or loathe it, the Tesla Cybertruck is a distinctive vehicle<\/p>\n There\u2019s no denying that the Cybertruck has made an impact in the years since it was released.<\/p>\n On the one hand, you can have its ardent critics who have branded it everything from a \u2018cyber-disaster\u2019 <\/a>to the \u2018biggest flop in automotive history\u2019.<\/a><\/p>\n And then on the other end of the spectrum, its biggest fans are proudly decking it out in all sorts of creative wraps.<\/a> <\/p>\n But leaving aside how it looks, we would expect to agree on one thing \u2013 this truck has some serious power within it.<\/p>\n It certainly looks the part of a towing titan, doesn\u2019t it?<\/p>\n But as one YouTuber found, things weren\u2019t so straight forward.<\/p>\n How did the Cybertruck cope towing this boat?<\/p>\n On the website, Tesla states that Cybertruck drivers can \u2018haul everything you need with 2,500 pounds payload and 11,000 pounds\u00a0towing capacity<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 the equivalent of an average African elephant\u2019.<\/p>\n That\u2019s quite the big promise.<\/p>\n But unfortunately for YouTuber Flying Wheels<\/a>, it didn\u2019t deliver. <\/p>\n Towing led to the truck losing a significant amount of power, requiring multiple charges throughout the trip.<\/p>\n That\u2019s not ideal when you\u2019re towing a boat behind you.<\/p>\n And not only that, but repeated visits to charging stations meant more money being spent.<\/p>\n In the ultimate insult to injury, he suggested the trip would have been easier if he\u2019d used a diesel-powered engine.<\/p>\n That\u2019s not what you want to hear if you\u2019re a company making electric trucks. <\/p>\n \u201cMoral of the story: do not tow with electric vehicles. They do not make sense; they are completely, completely impractical,\u201d he declared.<\/p>\n \u201cI had to charge twice today; had we towed the boat home, I probably would have had to charge two more times.<\/p>\n \u201cSo, is the truck awesome? Yes. Can you tow with it? Yes, it towed excellent. <\/p>\n Should you tow with it?
