(WWSB) -A pedestrian was killed and another was seriously injured after they were hit by an SUV late Friday night in Hillsborough County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Troopers said the crash happened around 10:50 p.m. on State Road 574, west of North 68th Street.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">A 72-year-old Largo man was driving a Chevrolet Equinox west on SR-574 when two pedestrians tried to cross the highway, FHP said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Both pedestrians entered the SUV\u2019s path and were hit.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">A 42-year-old Leesburg man died at the scene. A 54-year-old Miami man suffered serious injuries and was taken to an area hospital.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 WWSB.
