TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Another day of showers and some thunderstorms is on the way for your Sunday. Be sure to have the rain coast handy throughout the day.<\/p>\n

FLOOD WATCH: Coastal counties are still expecting the higher totals today, but the flood watch has been expanded inland north to I-10 after yesterday\u2019s heavy rainfall in Gadsden County. <\/p>\n

\"AA flood watch is in effect through Monday for the possibility of localized flooding across the region from heavy rainfall.(WCTV)<\/p>\n

While the flood watch area has the HIGHEST chance of flooding rain, anywhere in South Georgia or North Florida has a small chance of localized flooding through early this week as several rounds of rain continue.<\/p>\n

Additional rain totals between 1 and 3 inches in South Georgia and the northern Big Bend. The Southeast Big Bend could see an additional 3 to 6 inches through tomorrow.<\/p>\n

The heavy rain could lead to flash flooding this weekend. If it has been raining for hours, it will be best to stay inside and avoid driving. If you are in a vehicle, avoid driving over flooded roads because you never know how deep it is. <\/p>\n

Timing out Sunday showers<\/p>\n

Several rounds of showers and storms are expected. While I do not expect a constant rain on Sunday, there are going to be several hours of rain. <\/p>\n

If you live in South Georgia, showers and storms will be on and off throughout the day. You may be able to get to church just fine without a drop of rain, while others will be facing a downpour. Be sure to check radar frequently and grab the rain jacket if you are going to be out and about. The heaviest rain for you will be in the morning through early afternoon.<\/p>\n

For those in the Big Bend, especially south of I-10, rain is going to be a lot more frequent with several rounds of showers and thunderstorms. The rain is more isolated right now. Storms become widespread after 9 a.m. and will continue on and off until 8 or 9 p.m. <\/p>\n

Severe weather is once again NOT expected, but there could be a few stronger storms with brief gusty winds. The biggest risk remains localized flooding as additional rainfall totals will range between 1 and 5 inches through Monday. There will be a few spots that see higher amounts. <\/p>\n

This weekend is not looking great for beaches or small crafts. Rain and storms are likely, with the heavy rain near or offshore. Winds will get breezy too this afternoon with gusts to 25 knots. Waves between 3 and 6 feet. <\/p>\n

Monday and Tuesday look similar to Saturday and Sunday with periodic rain and storms. Highs in the 80s. <\/p>\n

Wednesday through the end of the week, showers and storms become less numerous. This means warmer temperatures are back by the end of the week. <\/p>\n

As we approach the peak of hurricane season, there is nothing to be concerned about at this point. No development is expected in the next 7 days.<\/p>\n

I am watching a plume of tropical moisture that is forecast to cross over the Atlantic, steered by the Bermuda High next week. Depending on its track, some tropical moisture might make its way toward the Mid-Atlantic coast. Nothing to be concerned about, just something to watch.<\/p>\n
