TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Buy your stock in big bend little league baseball now. The Chaires Capitola 12u team is headed to the southeast regional tournament for the first time in its history and the Tallahassee Babe Ruth 14U team is headed to its World Series hoping to go back to back.<\/p>\n
Chaires Capitola hasn\u2019t lost a game yet in 2026, as it plowed through the Florida state tournament, defeating three-time champion Lake Mary\u2019s to advance.<\/p>\n
The players say its team chemisty that\u2019s led to their successs. They\u2019ve known each other for years and had success on the diamond having won it all last summer as the 11U team.<\/p>\n
But what they\u2019ve accomplished so far this year,and have a chance to accomplish, is not lost on them.<\/p>\n
\u201cSuper proud of the boys, how they\u2019ve persevered and played throughout this all-star tournament season and district sectionals,\u201d said head coach Aleck Del Prado. \u201cBut then states last weekend, they played phenomenal baseball, defense, pitching, hitting. They put it all together and it was fun to watch. We hope that continues as we go to regionals.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI think we have the team. I think we have the talent,\u201d said catcher and outfielder Jacob Ross. \u201cIf we just play like we played in states, then I think we can do it. \u201d<\/p>\n
The team hits the road for regionals in Warner Robbins, GA on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Across town, the Tallahassee 14U Babe Ruth all-stars are prepping for their World Series, and they\u2019re in a good position to win it all. <\/p>\n
The team has been dominant this summer with a record of 2-0. They\u2019ve outscored teams 8-0.<\/p>\n
Head coach Bruce Williams said his focus right now is in the hitting department, but signaled their pitching is solid.<\/p>\n
Williams said he\u2019s excited to get to the World Series because it\u2019s when his team plays its best. The majority of this team is defending their World Series title from last summer for the 13U team.<\/p>\n
\u201cJust excited for these guys the opportunity to go back-to-back. That\u2019s something they\u2019ll cherish, I think,\u201d said Williams. \u201cThey\u2019ve played well on the big stage in front of a lot of people. It\u2019s exciting to know that they\u2019ve been challenged and they have a little bit of experience going into the World Series. There\u2019s nine international teams there, so that\u2019ll be something different for the guys. I feel like that\u2019ll be exciting as well.\u201d<\/p>\n
