In several counties, property tax growth was much higher than population growth and inflation over the same time.<\/p>\n<p>Counties with the biggest property-tax growth (2014\u20132024)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">Here are the counties with the largest increases in property tax levies over the last decade:<\/p>\n<p>1. Walton County (Panhandle):\u00a0216.1%\u00a0tax growth vs.\u00a090.4%\u00a0population+inflation<\/p>\n<p>2. Pasco County (Tampa Bay area):\u00a0169.2%\u00a0vs.\u00a070.2%<\/p>\n<p>3. Osceola County (Central Florida):\u00a0157.3%\u00a0vs.\u00a096.9%<\/p>\n<p>4. Nassau County (Northeast Florida):\u00a0147.4%\u00a0vs.\u00a078.4%<\/p>\n<p>5. St. Lucie County (Treasure Coast):\u00a0146.2%\u00a0vs.\u00a075.9%<\/p>\n<p>6. Manatee County (Gulf Coast):\u00a0145.8%\u00a0vs.\u00a074.7%<\/p>\n<p>7. St. Johns County (Northeast Florida):\u00a0139.5%\u00a0vs.\u00a0103.3%<\/p>\n<p>How Florida looks overall<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">Statewide, Florida TaxWatch says property tax levies rose 108.1% from 2014 to 2024. Over that same period, population + inflation rose 54.9%.<\/p>\n<p>Why it matters<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">Property taxes are a hot topic in Tallahassee.
