PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) \u2014 A 49-year-old alleged tri-county felon was arrested on Monday afternoon in Port St. Lucie after being spotted in a local Target. <\/p>\n
The Port St. Lucie Police Department (PSLPD) said that the arrest followed a tip from the Martin County Sheriff\u2019s Office, which informed them that Dennis Lynn might be heading towards the shopping area in Tradition.<\/p>\n
According to PSLPD, Lynn is a wanted felon with a history of grand theft and multiple other charges dating back to 2017, primarily from Palm Beach County. <\/p>\n
In a collaboration with Target’s loss prevention team, officers were able to identify Lynn on security cameras, per PSLPD.<\/p>\n
While police set up surveillance in the store, Lynn was reportedly seen stealing items from Target. <\/p>\n
Officers said that he exited the store but did not get far, as officers were already monitoring the area. <\/p>\n
See also: Victim identified in deadly Halloween e-scooter crash in Port St. Lucie<\/a><\/p>\n PSLPD said that upon stopping his vehicle, a Toyota RAV4, Lynn initially provided a false name, Bernard Watson, but was confirmed to be Dennis Lynn, who had outstanding warrants.<\/p>\n During the arrest, officers reported finding multiple credit and debit cards on Lynn that did not belong to him. <\/p>\n Lynn was taken into custody and transported to St. Lucie County Jail. <\/p>\n He now faces several criminal counts, including retail theft, unlawful possession of someone else’s identification, providing law enforcement with a false name, unlawful use of a two-way communication device, and outstanding warrants from other counties.<\/p>\n Find more ways to stay up to date with your latest local news.
