USMNT to play Peru in Orlando as part of fall friendlies<\/p>\n

U.S. Soccer announced Tuesday a slate of international friendlies scheduled for September and October, including a match in Orlando.<\/p>\n

The U.S. men’s national team will face Peru on Sept. 26 at Inter.Co Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

The Americans will then play Chile on Sept. 29 in St. Louis at 8 p.m.<\/p>\n

The four-match slate continues Oct. 3 against Mexico in Glendale, Arizona, at 10 p.m. before concluding Oct. 6 against Canada in Minnesota at 8 p.m.<\/p>\n

Tuesday’s announcement comes one day after U.S. Soccer announced head coach Mauricio Pochettino signed a contract extension through 2030.<\/p>\n

Pochettino guided the United States to the Round of 16 at last month’s FIFA World Cup.<\/p>\n

The Sept. 26 match will mark the eighth time the U.S. men’s national team has played at Inter.Co Stadium.<\/p>\n

“We’re proud to welcome the U.S. men’s national team back to Orlando for what will be a special occasion following the FIFA World Cup,” Jarrod Dillon, president of business operations for Orlando City, Orlando Pride and Inter&Co Stadium, said in a statement. “Inter&Co Stadium has become one of the premier soccer venues in the country, and this match gives fans from around the world an opportunity to travel to the region to celebrate the sport, support their respective national teams and experience another unforgettable event in the city. We look forward to another outstanding atmosphere.”<\/p>\n

The matches will be broadcast on TNT, HBO Max, Telemundo, Universo and Peacock.<\/p>\n

“Orlando has developed a fantastic soccer culture,” Pochettino said in a statement. “Of course, we also know the city has a proud history of being a great host for the national team, and I remember well the reception of the people when we played one of our first matches there.\u201d <\/p>\n
