ORLANDO, Fla. \u2014\u00a0We are about to enter shark territory! We\u2019re going behind-the-scenes to discover how you can \u201cdeep dive\u201d with sharks without getting wet.<\/p>\n
\u201cSummer of Sharks\u201d \u2014 operated by Merlin Entertainments \u2014 is a limited-time experience at Sea Life Orlando Aquarium at ICON Park.
\nIt\u2019s an exclusive and intimate experience to try to debunk stuff you think about sharks. \u201cSharks are really funny because you think of them as these predators, and they are,\u201d Sea Life Orlando curator Kelli Sparks said. \u201cBut they\u2019re also kind of picky and very sensitive. If you put a big piece of clam, [the shark surprisingly] might not want it.\u201d
\n\u201cSummer of Sharks\u201d includes a behind-the-scenes tour. It\u2019s a $10 upgrade to see this usually off-limits area of the aquarium. \u201c[Guests] can learn more facts and details about the seven different shark species we have at Sea Life Aquarium,\u201d spokesperson Noel Brooks said. During this 40-minute tour, you\u2019re above the stage and the 360-degree ocean tunnel, looking down into the aquarium at all kinds of sea animals, like Agave \u2014 a zebra shark \u2014 who engages in painting enrichment. (The paintings are sold in the gift shop.)
\nEducation stations and booths are peppered throughout Sea Life Aquarium right now. Those interactions are included in regular admission.
