18-year-old arrested in deadly shooting of 4-year-old in Orlando, police say<\/p>\n

\"AllisonORLANDO, Fla. \u2014<\/p>\n

An 18-year-old was arrested in connection with the deadly shooting of a 4-year-old in Pine Hills, according to the Orlando Police Department. <\/p>\n

The suspect was identified as Brandon McCloud. <\/p>\n

The incident happened on July 17 at around 11:34 a.m. when police officers responded to reports of a shooting at the Stella West Apartments. <\/p>\n

While on scene, police located a 4-year-old child with a gunshot wound, according to OPD. <\/p>\n

The child was taken to a hospital and later pronounced dead due to the injuries. <\/p>\n

Police said they later determined McCloud was handling the gun in a careless manner, which resulted in the child’s death. <\/p>\n

He is now charged with one count of manslaughter, according to police. <\/p>\n

Orange County arrest records show that McCloud was arrested on July 28 after police went to an apartment complex to collect his DNA. <\/p>\n

The document said McCloud was walking with another male toward the front of the apartment complex and began fleeing after police approached him. <\/p>\n

The police officer made multiple verbal lawful commands for him to stop running, but McCloud continued running toward his apartment, according to the arrest affidavit. <\/p>\n

In an effort to make McCloud stop, the police officer said he deployed his taser. <\/p>\n
