Fanjul\u2019s name has been tied to the sugar industry for generations, but he was also known for his charitable work in Palm Beach County. Ellen Wayne, CEO and executive director of Catholic Charities Diocese of Palm Beach, said, “One of the things I think that’s most striking about Alfie and the whole family in general, is really their attention to the needs in the community where they were operating. I can recall times when there have been natural disasters, and they’ve reached out with care and concern for their employees, as well as caring concern for the general community.” <\/p>\n
Since the announcement of his passing, tributes from local leaders and community members have poured in, highlighting his leadership and generosity. <\/p>\n

Fanjul is survived by his wife, children, and other family members. Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.<\/p>\n
