His labor expenses had increased before the recent ICE detention nearby scared away customers.

A U.S. Supreme Court ruling on June 25 allowed the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to end Temporary Protected Status for about 300,000 Haitians on July 27.

Gov. Sejour called for a strategic reassessment.

“Let’s take a little bit more time, let’s try to figure out how we can fix this without it hurting our economy as a whole,” Sejour said.

Copyright 2026 by WPLG Local10.com – All rights reserved.

Christian De La Rosa

Christian De La Rosa joined Local 10 News in April 2017 after spending time as a reporter and anchor in Atlanta, San Diego, Orlando and Panama City Beach.

Andrea Torres

The Emmy Award-winning journalist joined the Local 10 News team in 2013.
