Van crashes into store in Cape Coral<\/p>\n

\"Nehilah<\/a>CAPE CORAL, Fla. \u2014<\/p>\n

Employees at the Trebing Tile store on Del Prado Boulevard are thankful no one was hurt after they say a driver crashed into the building. <\/p>\n

Surveillance video from inside Trebing Tile captured the moment of impact. Alex Reed, an employee at the store, said he heard several loud noises before the van struck.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll of a sudden, bang \u2014 one bang, and then a second bang, and then a third bang,\u201d Reed said. \u201cThe third bang was the building, and a bunch of tile came off. Big catastrophe.\u201d<\/p>\n

Photos taken by the store\u2019s manager show the damage, including a hole in the wall. A week after the crash, cones, tape and patches remained outside the business.<\/p>\n

Manager Julia Trebing Miller said the driver jumped a curb, crossed several lanes of traffic, struck the store\u2019s sign and then hit the building. Cape Coral police ticketed the driver for careless driving. The business is filing an insurance claim.<\/p>\n

An employee went outside immediately after the crash to check on the driver.<\/p>\n

\u201cI opened the door, and I was like, \u2018Hey, anyone in there? You OK?\u2019\u201d Reed said. \u201cHe jumps out unscathed.\u201d<\/p>\n

Employees said no one inside the store was injured.<\/p>\n

\u201cI actually had a dream that night of what could have happened,\u201d employee Kayleigh Poole said. \u201cI\u2019m very thankful.\u201d <\/p>\n
