I am very proud of the work we have done as a councilman. I wish Bryan all the best and hope he does his best for our community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Salvat, 32, got 6.47% percent of the votes, while Bernardino \u201cBenny\u201d Rodriguez received less that 1% of the votes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">During his tenure on the city council, Calvo was a vocal critic of then-Mayor Bovo\u2019s administration, accusing it of wasteful spending and poor governance. Calvo filed a lawsuit, later dismissed against Bovo over alleged misuse of public resources.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Garcia-Roves \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.miamiherald.com\/news\/local\/community\/miami-dade\/hialeah\/article305179706.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:the first woman to serve as Hialeah\u2019s mayor;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">the first woman to serve as Hialeah\u2019s mayor<\/a> \u2014 is expected to remain in office through the transition period established under Bovo\u2019s administration. She will hand over the position on Jan. 12, 2026, when Calvo is expected to be sworn in. The arrangement leaves the city under interim leadership for two more months as Hialeah prepares for a new direction at City Hall.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Running as an anti-establishment reformer, Calvo raised just over $324,000 for his campaign.
