Leer en espa\u00f1ol<\/a><\/p>\nInvestigators with the Hialeah Police Department said they heard from multiple victims who claimed that Juan Espinosa, who now lives in Bradenton, had abused them over several years. <\/p>\n
One of the victims told police that the abuse had occurred from 2018 to 2022, when he was between the ages of 9 and 13.<\/p>\n
A second victim told police that Espinosa had been abusing her between 2009 and 2020, starting when she was 9 years old and ending when she was 20. <\/p>\n
According to arrest records, Espinosa groomed both victims separately, showing them pornographic videos at first before eventually starting to touch himself and the victims over time. <\/p>\n
Police said controlled phone calls were made between parties representing the victims\u2019 and Espinosa, which helped them establish his responsibility for the crimes. <\/p>\n
One of the victims reported that some of the alleged abuse occurred in Hillsborough County and Espinosa was initially jailed there in December. <\/p>\n
He has since been charged with six counts of sexual activity with a child by a person in familial or custodial authority, three counts of lewd and lascivious molestation of a child between the ages of 12 and 16 and five counts of sexual battery on a victim between the ages of 12 and 17 by a defendant 18 or over. <\/p>\n
Espinosa, following his extradition to Miami-Dade, was being held without bond in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.<\/p>\n
