{"id":365678,"date":"2026-08-07T22:32:13","date_gmt":"2026-08-07T22:32:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/365678\/"},"modified":"2026-08-07T22:32:13","modified_gmt":"2026-08-07T22:32:13","slug":"new-york-times-cia-creating-new-cuba-focused-task-force-wsvn-7news-miami-news-weather-sports","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/365678\/","title":{"rendered":"New York Times: CIA creating new Cuba-focused task force &#8211; WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">HAVANA (WSVN) &#8211; The CIA has reportedly created a new task force that will target Cuba.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The New York Times <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2026\/08\/05\/us\/politics\/cia-cuba-task-force.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">reported Wednesday<\/a> that the effort will allow the intelligence agency to quickly direct more resources to the island nation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It would also put pressure on the regime to make changes demanded by President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Earlier in the year, the Trump administration <a href=\"https:\/\/wsvn.com\/news\/us-world\/cuba-says-airlines-can-no-longer-refuel-on-the-island-as-us-blockade-deepens-energy-crisis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">imposed an oil blockade<\/a> that cut off fuel and deepened the country\u2019s crisis.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cuban President Miguel D\u00edaz-Canel announced economic reforms in response, but he does not appear willing to make political changes.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 Sunbeam Television Corp.
