{"id":366211,"date":"2026-08-08T13:22:10","date_gmt":"2026-08-08T13:22:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/366211\/"},"modified":"2026-08-08T13:22:10","modified_gmt":"2026-08-08T13:22:10","slug":"broward-county-early-voting-begins-today-at-21-locations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/366211\/","title":{"rendered":"Broward County early voting begins today at 21 locations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph\">FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.  \u2014 Immigration, jobs, the economy and gas prices are among the issues motivating voters to head to the polls, with some choosing to cast their ballots earlier than others.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cI just want people who haven\u2019t been voting to get out and vote,\u201d one voter said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Poll workers are preparing for the start of early voting Saturday, practicing to ensure the process runs smoothly.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cThis is the most convenient time to vote in person because you can go anywhere in Broward County,\u201d Broward County Supervisor of Elections Joe Scott said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Early voting will be available at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.local10.com\/news\/politics\/2026\/07\/31\/local-10-editorial-early-voting-begins-next-week-get-out-and-vote\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.local10.com\/news\/politics\/2026\/07\/31\/local-10-editorial-early-voting-begins-next-week-get-out-and-vote\/\">21 locations across Broward County<\/a> from Saturday through Aug. 16. The polls will remain open on those dates from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Scott said registered voters need to bring a valid form of identification to vote in person.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cIf you have a state ID, driver\u2019s license, that\u2019s the best bet,\u201d Scott said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Voters can also drop off their mail-in ballots at any early voting location in Broward County during the early voting period. They do not have to use a location in the area where they are registered.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cVote-by-mail ballots, we actually compare the signatures with the signature we have on file,\u201d Scott added.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Early voting in Broward County begins nearly a week after early voting started in Miami-Dade and Monroe counties.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Scott said Broward County\u2019s schedule is based on historical voter participation and the county\u2019s goal of managing taxpayer dollars responsibly.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cIn Broward County, we basically set up our voting system for early voting to match the population of people who are participating historically, and this is to be a good steward of the taxpayer dollars,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.local10.com\/news\/politics\/2026\/03\/18\/voter-guide-here-is-how-to-prepare-for-floridas-primary-election\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.local10.com\/news\/politics\/2026\/03\/18\/voter-guide-here-is-how-to-prepare-for-floridas-primary-election\/\">VIEW LOCAL 10\u2019S 2026 VOTING GUIDE<\/a> for more information about early voting in South Florida.
