<\/a>@bioreconstruct\/X<\/p>\nNew aerial photographs shared by photographer bioreconstruct<\/a> reveal the extent of demolition across The Lost Continent, including remnants of former show scenes, an expansive cleared construction site, and preparations for temporary backstage facilities.<\/p>\n A wide view of the project shows two major work zones separated by an existing backstage road. The former site of The Eighth Voyage of Sindbad has been almost completely cleared and graded, while the Poseidon\u2019s Fury show building remains partially standing across the road.<\/p>\n Heavy machinery is spread throughout both areas. Excavators continue dismantling the former attraction building, while additional equipment is being used to grade and prepare the larger cleared site.<\/p>\n The aerial view also illustrates how much space Universal is assembling for the replacement land. The construction zone now stretches from the edge of Seuss Landing toward The Wizarding World of Harry Potter \u2013 Hogsmeade, wrapping around the remaining Lost Continent facilities.<\/p>\n The existing First Aid building remains standing near the center of the site. Two long trailer sections have been delivered to the cleared area nearby, and another prepared surface can be seen closer to Hogsmeade. Bioreconstruct suggested the trailers could be joined together as either construction offices or a temporary First Aid facility while work continues.<\/p>\n The photos also suggest the backstage roadway may eventually be shifted around the perimeter of the construction site. Any permanent relocation has not been confirmed, though the current road could initially remain available for First Aid vehicles and construction traffic.<\/p>\n Poseidon\u2019s Fury Interior Exposed Demolition has now removed most of the lower portion of the Poseidon\u2019s Fury show building, leaving its upper white structure standing over exposed steel supports and hanging pieces of former scenery.<\/p>\n The newly opened building provides a partial view of the attraction\u2019s internal layout. Among the debris is the rear of a large circular door that once stood inside one of the show chambers.<\/p>\n Guests entered what initially appeared to be a relatively small room. During a moment of darkness, the surrounding walls rose into the ceiling, revealing that guests were actually standing inside a much larger effects theater. The concealed transition helped create one of the attraction\u2019s most memorable illusions.<\/p>\n Other visible remnants appear to come from the sequence of chambers that carried guests through the experience. Poseidon\u2019s Fury also featured its famous swirling water-vortex tunnel, which guests walked through before reaching the climactic battle between Poseidon and the villainous Lord Darkenon.<\/p>\n Twisted metal, sections of themed rockwork, insulation, pipes, and former show equipment now fill the exposed lower level. The building\u2019s remaining exterior walls are being dismantled from multiple sides, making these potentially some of the last aerial photographs in which individual elements of the attraction can still be identified.<\/p>\n A tiny section of the former themed exterior walls remains visible along the right side of the structure.<\/p>\n Ground-level views from bioreconstruct show large sections of the building\u2019s roof and exterior walls peeled away, exposing steel framing, ductwork, pipes, insulation, and the darkened interior. Longstanding weather damage is also visible on the structure\u2019s pale blue exterior wall, where sections of the surface coating have deteriorated to reveal dark underlying material around exposed utility pipes.<\/p>\n The temple entrance and surrounding plaza were already completely removed in our previous Lost Continent demolition update<\/a>.<\/p>\n The Future of The Lost Continent<\/p>\n Poseidon\u2019s Fury opened with Universal Islands of Adventure in 1999 and permanently closed in May 2023. The Eighth Voyage of Sindbad closed several years earlier, in 2018.<\/p>\n Universal Orlando Resort has confirmed that The Lost Continent will be replaced by a new themed area, but it has not announced the theme, attractions, or opening timeline.
