Oklahoma man found dead after car plunges into Cocoa Beach waterway<\/p>\n

\"MadilynCOCOA BEACH, Fla. \u2014<\/p>\n

A 23-year-old man from Oklahoma was found dead Sunday morning after his car crashed into a waterway near the West Cocoa Beach Causeway, according to the police department. <\/p>\n

At approximately 7:20 a.m., Cocoa Beach police and fire rescue units responded to the area near the Banana River relief bridge after someone noticed the rear bumper of a vehicle sticking out of the water. <\/p>\n

Rescue units located the man deceased in the front driver\u2019s seat of a 2023 gray Nissan Altima, police said. <\/p>\n

The preliminary investigation reveals that the car left the roadway while traveling at a high rate of speed and submerged in approximately eight feet of water. <\/p>\n

No foul play is suspected at this time, police said. <\/p>\n

The vehicle was recovered from the water with assistance from the Brevard County Sheriff\u2019s Office Dive Team. <\/p>\n

The identity of the victim has not yet been released.<\/p>\n

This is an active and ongoing traffic crash investigation. <\/p>\n
