<\/a><\/p>\nThe former refreshment stand is no longer visible behind the construction walls lining the Frontierland promenade. The entire structure, including its roof, serving windows, and rustic Western facade, has been removed.<\/p>\n
A large tree beside the former snack stand remains, but the cleared site now provides an unobstructed view above the walls toward Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Brown construction walls continue to separate guests from the active work zone.<\/p>\n
Viewed from the opposite side, the space formerly occupied by Westward Ho is completely open. Construction equipment, orange cones, cables, and other materials are staged behind the barriers, with the neighboring Frontierland fa\u00e7ades visible across the cleared site.<\/p>\n Westward Ho closed permanently on June 21<\/a> as Disney prepared to expand the Piston Peak National Park construction zone. The kiosk had already disappeared from the My Disney Experience map, and its webpage and operating hours were removed from the Walt Disney World website.<\/p>\n Construction walls were later installed around the stand. In late July, crews removed the large \u201cWestward Ho Refreshments\u201d sign<\/a> and began gutting the interior ahead of demolition.<\/p>\n Before closing, Westward Ho served frozen lemonade, cold brew, mini corn dogs, candied bacon, and other grab-and-go refreshments. Nearby popcorn, churro, and ice cream carts were also relocated as the construction perimeter moved farther into Frontierland.<\/p>\n The demolition is part of the ongoing transformation of the former Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island area into Piston Peak National Park. The Cars-inspired expansion will include two attractions, including an off-road rally experience through a mountainous wilderness and a second unannounced attraction. Disney has not announced an opening timeframe (or any details whatsoever regarding the second attraction).<\/p>\n Nearby Big Al\u2019s is also expected to be demolished<\/a> as work progresses along this section of Frontierland.<\/p>\n What do you think of the changing Frontierland landscape in the name of Cars?
