JACKSONVILLE, Fla \u2014 The Jacksonville Humane Society is holding a \u201cname your price\u201d adoption event to help find forever homes for dozens of dogs and cats. During the \u201cFetch an A+ Friend,\u201d adopters can choose the price they pay for their new family member, with each dollar supporting lifesaving care for animals.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhile families are shopping for backpacks and preparing for a new school year, we\u2019re hoping they\u2019ll also consider adding a new member to the family,\u201d says Jacksonville Humane Society CEO Lawrence Nicolas. \u201dEvery adoption creates space for another animal in need and gives a deserving pet the chance to begin a brand-new chapter.\u201d<\/p>\n
The \u201cFetch an A+ event\u201d takes place from August 10-14 from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Jacksonville Humane Society shelter on Beach Blvd.<\/p>\n
JHS says each pet is spayed or neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and ready to head home the same day. Additional fees may apply, such as the city rabies licensing fee, a leash and collar, or a cat carrier.<\/p>\n
